The New GST/HST Rules for Registered Pension Plans
Recent changes to the
Excise Tax Act and regulations have each resulted in a bewildering array of new rules that apply not just to registered pension plans, but also to sponsoring employers. In response to these new rules, Ryan is pleased to invite you to join us for a
special informative session on the new GST/HST rules for registered pension plans in Canada.
This course has been designed to provide an overview of the new legislation and regulations and how it impacts both registered pension plans and their sponsoring employers. The presentation will cover the evolution of the GST/HST rules surrounding pension plans, review the outcomes of the
General Motors and
Canadian Medical Practitioners’ Association cases, and provide a discussion of the new rules, including remittance and filing requirements. In addition, course participants will receive an overview of the new rules as they apply to registered pension plans that are selected listed financial institutions and the various elections for pension plan registration and reporting.
These sessions are available to our out-of-town clients by webinar or in person at the Ryan Training Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
